Mary V. Ross

Mary V. Ross, 83, of Woodland Street,
Merrimac, died early Wednesday, October 28, 2020 in the Anna Jaques
Hospital, Newburyport following her lengthy illness. She was the wife of
the late Philip W. Ross who passed in April of 2013.
Born in Ipswich on June 18, 1937 she was the
daughter of the late Doris M. Gilmore. Raised in Ipswich she attended
Ipswich public schools and Essex Agricultural and Technical Institute.
As a young woman she worked several years in Ipswich as a telephone
switchboard operator. Mary raised her family in Ipswich and relocated to
Byfield in 1976 to 2013. During these years she was active in the
appraising, buying and selling of antiques.
Mary loved the time spent with her
grandchildren, her granddog Sandy the Labrador and her many hours of
reading.
She was a member of the Byfield Grange.
Mary is survived by a daughter, Lucinda J.
Ross of Merrimac; four sons, Barry W. Ross and his wife Samantha of
Monson, Paul B. Ross and his wife Bonita, David J. Ross and his wife
Janine all of Ipswich and Daniel A Ross of Merrimac; nine grandchildren,
Jordan, Justin and Ethan Ross all of Monson, Matthew and Michaela
Ross both of Ipswich, Courtney Ross of Topsfield, Aaron Ross of Ipswich
and Jessica and Jacob Ross both of Portland, ME. She was the sister
of the late Renata L. Gilmore of Ipswich.
Her funeral service will be held graveside, 11 am
Tuesday, November 3 in the New Highland Cemetery, Town Farm Road, Ipswich.
Family and friends are respectfully welcomed. In accordance with current
COVID 19 regulations, masks are required and social distancing will be
observed. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements
are under the direction of the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home of Ipswich.
