William C. Dean, Jr.

William C. Dean, Jr. 78, husband of Marsha A.
(Greenwood) Dean of Main Street, Rowley, died Thursday, December 8, 2022
in the Massachusetts General Hospital following his extended illness.
Born in Providence, RI on December 4, 1944, he was
one of the three children of the late William C. and Margaret L. (East)
Dean.
Bill was a 1962 graduate of Warwick Veterans High
School, a 1963 graduate of Bridgeton Academy, 1967 graduate of Nichols
College with a bachelor’s degree and a 1972 graduate of Northeastern
University with a Master’s degree. The Deans married in 1965 and made
their home in central Mass before their move to Newburyport, where they
lived for eight years, and then their most recent move to Rowley where
they have lived for the past twenty years. Throughout these years Bill was
employed as a software engineer for SAP. During his employment he
travelled the world often accompanied by his wife Marsha. Until his recent
illness he led a very active lifestyle. He enjoyed playing ‘pickle ball,’
boating local waters with family
from their Little Neck seasonal home, bicycling, photography, woodworking
and motorcycling.
In addition to his wife Marsha of fifty-seven
years, he is survived by two sons, Michael K. Dean and his companion
Judith McInnis of Ipswich, Matthew W. Dean and his wife Ginette of Pelham,
NY; two grandchildren, Simone Dean and Violet Dean both of Pelham, NY; a
brother, David Dean and his wife Susan of Cranston, RI; a sister, Holly
Okerholm and her husband William of Warwick, RI and several nephews and
nieces.
His funeral service will be held Monday, December
19 at 11 am in the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich.
Family and friends are cordially welcomed. Visiting hours will be held
Sunday 4 to 7 pm. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to MGH
