Warren A. French

Warren A. French,
87, of Ipswich, husband of June Anne (Hofling) French, died Sunday
September 3, 2017 in the Masconomet Healthcare Center, Topsfield.
He was born October
28, 1929 in Boston, son of the late Frank L. and Ruth E. (Haggett)
French and was raised in Melrose. Warren graduated from
Northeastern University, after serving with the U.S. Army in the
Korean War. He was the recipient of the Purple Heart for injuries
sustained in battle.
In his professional
career he was employed with air freight company Flying Tiger Lines
as a Sales Manager, later retiring from ABC Air Freight.
Warren
was a Master Mason for sixty-three years. He was a member of the
Grand Lodge of Masons, Boston and the Allepo Shrine and the
Scottish Rite organizations.
He also served and
was the past commander of the Gloucester Power Squadron having spent
many years boating around Cape Ann and in Boothbay Harbor, ME.
In addition to his
loving wife June of fifty-five years, he is survived by a
daughter, Cynthia A. Marshall and her husband Richard of Merrimack,
NH; two granddaughters, Kelly McDill and Kimberly Twomey and her
husband Phillip Twomey, and three great grandchildren, Brook Soucy,
Joshua and Nathan Twomey all of Londonderry, NH.
His funeral service
will be held 11 am Monday September 11 in the Whittier-Porter
Funeral Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich, followed by interment with
Military Honors in the Cowles Memorial Cemetery, Town Farm Rd.,
Ipswich. Family and friends are respectfully welcomed. Visiting
Hours will be Sunday 4 to 7 pm with a service by the Columbian
Masonic Lodge AF&AM at 6 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations
in his name may be made to the American Heart Association,
