Virginia Soffron
Virginia Soffron, 101, of Port Jefferson Station,
New York and longtime resident of Ipswich, died Friday, January 25, 2019
in the Saint Catherine of Siena Medical Center in Smithtown, NY.
Born in Ipswich December 11, 1917, she was the
daughter of the late Naketas Soffron and Stavarola (Christakis) Soffron.
Virginia was raised in Ipswich where she attended Ipswich public schools.
Virginia’s career in accounting spanned five
decades, beginning at Soffron Brother’s Clams in Ipswich and culminating
with her work at Buttonwood Securities and Investments in Boston.
Her sense of humor, detailed storytelling, and warm personality will
always be remembered
by those who knew her.
She is survived by three nieces; four nephews and
many great-nieces and great-nephews. She was a beloved sister of the late
Theodora (Brzezicki) Soffron, Thomas, George, Peter and Steven Soffron all
formerly of Ipswich.
Her Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, February 1, 2019 in the
Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich, followed by
interment in the New Highland Cemetery Ipswich. Family and friends are
cordially welcomed.
