Ursula (Morgalla)
Szymczak, 86, of Carter Street, Newburyport, companion of the
late Vaclav Kouba, died peacefully Friday morning July 10, 2009
in the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, following her
brief illness.
Born in Chorzow,
Poland October 22, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Leon
and Anna (Uschuk) Morgalla. Ursula immigrated to the United
States in 1950 and settled in Chicago, followed shortly
thereafter by her family. Following the death of her companion,
she and her daughter enjoyed traveling extensively and lived
throughout the US. She has been a Newburyport resident for the
last six years. Her passions were her family, her dogs and food.
Those who loved her will remember her for her generosity and
wisdom.
She is survived
by her daughter, Gilda Tunney and her husband Gilbert of
Ipswich, a brother, Michael Morgalla of Madison, WI, her sister,
Regina Gicela and nephews Michael and Raymond Gicela, all of
Lombard, IL.
Private funeral
arrangements are under the direction of the Whittier-Porter
Funeral Home of Ipswich. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may
make memorial contributions to the Hospice of the North Shore,
