Thomas Hall, 96, longtime of Washington Street, Ipswich and
husband of the late Marie Anne (Martel) Hall died Thursday,
March 14, 2013 in the Blueberry Hill Rehabilitation Center,
Beverly following his long illness.
Born January 19, 1917 in Covington, Tennessee, he was the son of
the late Charles and Frances (Dugger) Hall. During WWII he
served in Europe with the Army Infantry. Following his discharge
and marriage to Marie Anne Martel they soon made their home and
raised their family in their Washington Street home. Throughout
these years Mr. Hall was employed at the former A.C. Lawrence
Leather Co. in Peabody, Korn Leather and Cresse & Cook Leather
from which he retired in 1982. He enjoyed antique cars, trains
and driving with his family to many New England destinations.
He is survived by two sons, Thomas G. Hall of Maine and Charles
A. Hall of Ipswich; four daughters, Jeannine M. Hobbs of Salem,
Anne Parker of Florida, Ramona Fields and her husband Leon of
Detroit, MI and Celeste R. Brady and her husband Joseph of
Billerica; along with several grandchildren and
great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Martha Jo
Baxter and Charles Hall formerly of TN, and Thaddeus Hall
formerly NC .
His funeral service with Military Honors will be held Monday, 1
pm graveside in the Cowles Memorial Cemetery, Town Farm Rd.,
Ipswich. Family and friends are respectfully welcomed.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Whittier-Porter
Funeral Home of Ipswich.
