K. (Kelley) Johnson

Sara K. (Kelley) Johnson,
97, a resident of The Maples in Wenham, died Friday, May 8, 2020 in her
home following a sudden illness. She was the wife of the late G. Walter
Johnson who passed in May of 2011.
Born in Framingham,
January 28, 1923, Sara was one of five children of the late Homer G. and
Edith M. (Morton) Kelley. She was raised in Framingham, a 1940 graduate of
Framingham High School, and a graduate of the Mary Brooks Jr. College.
Married in Framingham in 1946, the Johnsons made their home in Trumball,
CT. They later resided in Wilbraham and Hillsboro, FL.
She was a
member of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Springfield and currently The
First Congregational Church of Hamilton. For many years she had served as
a volunteer doing hospital work while both in Florida and more recently at
the Beverly Hospital.
Sara is survived by a son, Eric K. Johnson of Manchester, NH; a daughter,
Cynthia L. Garland of Hopkinton, NH and formerly of Ipswich; five
grandchildren, Abigail T. Garland of Andover, Rebecca G. Whitley of
Hopkinton, NH, George W. Johnson, III of Avon, CT, Jennifer L. McVicker of
Chicago, IL, Anders F. Johnson of Hamilton; five great grandchildren, and
many nephews and nieces. She was the mother of the late Torrey R. Johnson
formerly of Gloucester, George W. Johnson formerly of Wilbraham, and
sister of the late Jason T. Kelley formerly of Framingham, Wallace M.
Kelley formerly of St. Louis, MO, and Hester E. Kelley and Janet W.
Wheatley both formerly of Washington state. Memorial contributions in
