Sara (Goodhue) Blais

Sara (Goodhue) Blais died peacefully on Saturday May 26, 2012 at the age of fifty-seven in the home of her long-time dear friend and caregiver Susan Richard surrounded by friends and family. Sara was born on August 21, 1954 to her parents Donald and Doris (Fallis) Goodhue of Essex.  She was married to that late Ralph Blais who predeceased her in 1998.

Sara attended school in Gloucester and Essex.  She worked as an Emergency Medical Technician for O’Brien’s Ambulance for several years early in her career followed by positions as a Medical Assistant for a number of medical practices in the North Shore area.  She enjoyed reading, attending craft fairs with friends, spending days at the beach, shopping, spending time with her family and friends and the loving company of her many dogs and cats over the years.

Sara is survived by her three children, Ramsey Johnson and his husband, David J. Hedison of Boston, Dean G. Johnson and his wife Susan of Hudson, NH and Rosalind S. Johnson and her long-time boyfriend Ryan Meserve of Chelmsford. In addition to her children, Sara is survived by her two grandchildren Lucas M. and Abigail S. Johnson of North Reading, and a sister Susan Muise and her husband James of Essex.  In addition, she is survived by a niece Keri M. Phipps and her husband Michael Phipps of Kensington, NH and J.D. Muise and his long-time girlfriend Kathy Koper of Essex. Sara is also survived by her first husband Paul C. Johnson of Gloucester.

Her funeral service will be held Wednesday May 30 at 10 am in the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich, followed by interment in the Spring Street Cemetery, Essex. Family and friends are respectfully welcomed. Visiting hours are Tuesday May 29 from 4 to 8 pm.
