Ruth L. (Brockelbank) Hetnar, 79, wife of the late Harry Hetnar,
formerly of Spring Street, Ipswich, died Saturday August 16, 2008 in
the Blueberry Hill Healthcare Center in Beverly following her
extended illness.
Born in Ipswich November 13, 1928, she was the daughter of the late
Ralph C. and Bertha K. (Lowe) Brockelbank. Married in 1950 in the
former Sacred Heart Church in Ipswich, the Hetnars owned and
operated Common Fields Nursery for many years. She was a talented
home gardener as well, and enjoyed knitting and crocheting and
hooking rugs for family and friends. She was a longtime enthusiastic
volunteer at the Ipswich Information Booth and will be remembered
for her fun loving nature. Most of all she loved spending time with
her children and grandchildren.
She
is survived by her son, Richard H. Hetnar, her daughter, Mary E.
Canzano, grandchildren Melanie A. Hetnar, Jeffrey R. Hetnar,
Nicholas Canzano and Cassidy Canzano, all of Ipswich. She is also
survived by a brother, Richard N. Brockelbank and a sister, Mabel
Kiepaz, both of Ipswich, and many nieces and nephews. She was the
sister of the late Ralph C. “Jim” Brockelbank, Walter Brockelbank,
Hilda Gill and Mildred E. Brockelbank, all formerly of Ipswich.
Her
funeral service will be held Wednesday August 20 at 10 am in the
Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich. Family and
friends respectfully welcomed. Visiting hours will be Tuesday 4 to 8
pm. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to the Blueberry
Hill Healthcare Center, 75 Brimball Avenue, Beverly, MA 01915
