Russell F. Dahl, 91, of Meredith, NH and longtime of Saugus,
died May 1, 2008 in the Community Hospital, New Port Richey, FL
following his brief illness.
Born in Revere July 8, 1916, the son of the late Andrew F. and
Anna M. (Nydahl) Dahl, he was raised in Revere where he was a
graduate of public schools. During WWII he served in Greenland
with the U.S. Army. Following his honorable discharge he
returned to Everett with his new wife. Shortly after the birth
of their son Russell they made their home in Saugus where they
raised their family. For nineteen years Mr. Dahl was employed as
a painter by the Christian Science Church of Boston. Following
his retirement in 1979 the Dahls moved to their former summer
home on Lake Winnipesaukee in Meredith.
In retirement he enjoyed entertaining friends and family up at
“the lake.”
He is survived by two sons, Russell F. Dahl of Meredith and
David A. Dahl and his wife Donna of Franklin, his daughter,
Nancy Fritz of Meredith; five grandchildren, Stephanie Piggot of
Marlborough, NH, Kristy Dahl of Berlin, NH, Andrew Dahl of
Franklin, Janelle Fritz of Meredith and Derek Fritz of Meredith
; three great grandchildren, and a brother, Frank Dahl of
Shawnee, KS. He was also survived by many nieces and nephews
including Robert Porter of Ipswich. He was the brother of the
Late Albert Dahl of Revere, Earl Dahl of Everett, Sally Howe of
Kingston, Mildred MacDonald of Dover, NH, and Anna Porter of
Ipswich.
Private services were held graveside in the Puritan Lawn
Memorial Park, Peabody, MA.
