Roy E. Kirkland, 89,
formerly of Newmarch Street, Ipswich, and husband of the late
Catherine D. (Enos) Kirkland, died December 17, 2015 after having
spent his last years in PA with his daughter, Lisa, and son-in-law,
Steve.
Roy was born in
Malden January 14, 1926, son of the late Roy L. and Mary A. (Welch)
Kirkland and was raised in Malden. He spent his free time
boating, with his family skiing, traveling, woodworking and RVing
the countryside. Roy had a very full, long life and many friends.
He loved life. He's is now where he's always been happiest, with his
"Dip."
He is survived by
his daughter Lisa Mary Martin, who was named for his beloved
grandmother; two sons, Lee E. Kirkland and Paul Kirkland; nine
grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was also the father of
the late Donna Clapp.
His funeral service with Naval Honors will be held 11 am Saturday,
May 7 graveside in the Cowles Memorial Cemetery, Town Farm Road,
Ipswich. Family and friends are respectfully welcomed.
