Ronald A. Robinson


Ronald A. Robinson, 78, of Scott Hill Road and husband of Maude I. (Madden) Robinson, died June 27, 2019 in the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veteran’s Hospital in Bedford following his extended illness.
Born in Ipswich on April 12, 1941, son of the late Dewey D. and Maude (Sheppard) Robinson, he was raised in Ipswich and attended local public schools. Enlisting in the Marine Corp at the age of seventeen, he went on to serve in Borneo and Okinawa. Following his Honorable discharge, he went to work as a machinist at United Shoe Machine in Beverly, where he worked until it closure when he then went to work at Harmonic Drive in Peabody from which he retired. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, alpine skiing, playing racquetball, tennis, and bowling.
In addition to his wife he is survived by daughters Carolyn Darisse and her husband Michael of Ipswich, Amber L. Howes and her husband Sean of Ipswich, Michelle Griego of Beverly; son, William Pantos of Beverly; daughter, Barbara Pantos of New Bedford, Maureen Pantos of Plymouth; grandchildren Taylor Smith, David Smith, Chyna Rinaldi, Brynne Collum, Steven Pantos, Kyle Pantos, Jake Pantos, Madi Pantos, Jaxson Pantos, and great-grandchildren, Caleb Gates and Colby Gates. He is also survived by a brother, William Robinson of NH; a sister, Susan Alderson of NH, and many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Steven Pantos, formerly of Beverly, the late Beth A. Demski formerly of Salem; brother of the late Dewey Robinson, formerly of Ipswich, and the late Lucille Robins, formerly of NH.
His funeral service will be held Monday, July 8, 11 am, graveside with military honors in Cowles Memorial Cemetery, Town Farm Road, Ipswich. Family and friends are respectfully welcomed. Visiting hours will be Sunday 4 to 6 pm in the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich.
