Robert C. Day,
75, of High Street, Ipswich, died Saturday, December 20, 2014 in
the Kindred Hospital North Shore Boston in Peabody following his
long illness. He was the husband of the late Valerie H. Pappas
who died in August, 2004.
Born August 21,
1939 in Haverhill, the only child of the late Charles A.P. and
Edna M. Day, he was raised in Haverhill, a graduate of Haverhill
Public schools. He continued his education at Boston University
graduating with a B.A. in psychology where he continued his
studies earning his Masters in psychology. Following university
studies he served with the U.S. Army in Germany honorably
discharged as a Lieutenant. For many years Bob was employed as
an automobile salesman for Howe Cadillac in Haverhill and more
recently and until his illness, as a driver for Cape Ann Transit
of Gloucester. Throughout these years he also had a private
practice in hypnosis in Groveland.
Bob had many
interests. He loved music playing the saxophone at many North
Shore venues, was a recreational pilot flying out of Plum Island
and Lawrence airports, he loved the ocean having painted many
beautiful seascapes in oil and most of all will be remembered
for the love he showed for his children and entire family.
He was a member
of the Ipswich AMVETS Post # 201.
Bob is survived
by two daughters, Marcia A. Pappas of Haverhill, Melissa J.
Alderman of Worcester; four grandchildren, Lyana Pappas of
Haverhill, Tyler Alderman, Miyah Douglas, Cameron Alderman all
of Worcester and a daughter-in-law, Linda Alderman of Haverhill.
