Robert E. Cacciola

Robert E. Cacciola, 85, husband of the late Michael P. Walsh of Topsfield Road, Ipswich, died Thursday, February 18, 2021 in the Beverly Hospital following his brief illness.

Born in Everett on December 11, 1935, son of the late Sam and Anna G. (Kroon) Cacciola, he was raised in Everett and was a graduate of Everett public schools.

Bob went to serve an enlistment in the U.S. Navy as a signalman aboard an aircraft carrier. Later both he and his late spouse, Michael, for many years owned and operated Michael Roberts Hair Fashions in Salem. He retired as a hairdresser this past December.  Home and family were most important to him, enjoying being surrounded by his family and many friends. Bob had a positive outlook on life, living a life of kindness.

Bob is survived by his son, Adam Walsh of Ipswich; a sister, Marjorie Cacciola and her wife Elaine Regis of Beverly; seven grandchildren, Jordan, Julianna, Emma, Aliana and Mila Walsh, Zoe Cacciola and Dallas Cacciola; a nephew, Thomas and three nieces, Ruth, Judi and Jean. In addition to his husband he was predeceased by a son, Jason M, Cacciola formerly of Ipswich and a brother, the late Thomas Cacciola formerly of Beverly.  

Visiting hours will be Tuesday 4 to 6 pm followed by a service at 6 pm in the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich. Covid 19 restrictions include facial masks and  social distancing with very limited seating. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Avenue, Salem MA 01970.
