Richard N. “Bucky” Brockelbank, 75, longtime of High Street, Ipswich, died Saturday September 27, 2008 in the Caldwell Convalescent Home, following his long illness. He was the husband of the late Frances T. (Nadeau) Brockelbank who died in 1998.
Born in Ipswich July 7, 1933 son of the late Ralph and Bertha (Lowe) Brockelbank, he was a lifelong Ipswich resident. As a young man he went to work as a heavy equipment operator for the ABC Mulhollland Company of Ipswich, and later in life worked as an equipment operator for his son Richard’s excavation business, retiring in 1998.
He will be remembered as a man who enjoyed his family and his work.
He was a longtime communicant of the former St. Stanislaus Church and Our Lady of Hope Parish of Ipswich.
He is survived by two sons, Richard L. Brockelbank and his wife Debra of Ipswich and William Beck of Lawrence; and two daughters, Claudette Wright and her husband Wilfred of Claremore, OK and Suzanne Conrad of Hudson. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Megan Brockelbank and Mariah Brockelbank both of Ipswich, Wendy Lescord of Manchester, NH, Wilfred Wright, Jr., of OK, Monique Ware of St. Louis, MO and Tanya Manning of Spencer; two great grandchildren, Olivia Wright and Evan Wright both of OK; a sister, Mabel Kiepaz of Ipswich, and many nephews and nieces. He was the brother of the late Walter Brockelbank, Ralph Brockelbank, Hilda Gill, Mildred Brockelbank and Ruth Hetnar, all formerly of Ipswich.
His funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 AM in the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich. Family and friends are respectfully welcomed. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 4 to 8 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in his name maybe made to the Alzheimer's Association, 311 Arsenal St.., Mass. Chapter, Watertown, MA 02472.
