Raymond P. Budzianowski
Raymond P. Budzianowski, 73, of Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Ipswich, died Thursday, May 28, 2009 in the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following his extended illness.
Born in Ipswich Oct. 3, 1935, he was the son of the late Zenon and Louise (Grohowski) Budzianowski. He was raised in Ipswich, and graduated with the Ipswich High School Class of 1953. He trained as an electrician at Franklin Institute in Boston, and became a Master Electrician. Due to illness, he served a brief enlistment with the US Army. He was employed as the electrical inspector for the Town of Ipswich for over twenty years. A longtime member of the Sacred Heart Church and Our Lady of Hope Parish in Ipswich, he was a past member of the PLAV Post 92, the AMVETS Post 201, the Ipswich VFW Post 1093 and the DAV. He was an enthusiastic fan of all professional sports. He enjoyed working in his yard, often engaging passersby with a smile and a wave.
He is survived by his sister, Barbara Budzianowski of Ipswich and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Walter Budzianowski, formerly of Norway, Maine, Edward Budzianowski of Ipswich, Zenon Budzianowski of Long Beach, Calif., Peter Budzianowski of San Antonio, Mary Budzianowski of Ipswich, Jennie Garrand of Ipswich, Helen Budzianowski of Ipswich, Alice Naguszewski of Ipswich, and Sophie Allen of Lee.
His funeral service will be held Monday June 1, 8 a.m. from the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High St., Ipswich, followed by a 9 a.m. Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Hope Church, Pineswamp Road, Ipswich. Family and friends respectfully welcomed. Interment will be in the Cowles Memorial Cemetery, Ipswich. Visiting hours are Sunday 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Suite B102, Danvers, MA 01923.
