Norma A.
(Millett) Young, 83, formerly of Story Street, Essex and the
beloved wife of the late Donald P. Young, died peacefully
Tuesday, January 26, 2016 in the Masconomet Healthcare Center,
Topsfield after a long illness.
Born in
Gloucester September 18, 1932 she was the daughter of the late
Ralph and Agnes M. (O'Keefe) Millett. Norma was raised in Essex,
a graduate of Gloucester High School Class of 1951, and lived in
Essex until 2012.
She was a long
time employee of the First National Bank of Ipswich and a
communicant of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Essex.
She lovingly
leaves her children, Timothy D. Young and his wife Susan,
Richard S. Young and his wife Patricia all of Brunswick, ME; a
daughter, Kimberly Young Johnson and her fiancé’ Roger Hastings
of Danvers; five grandchildren, Jennifer Bailey and her husband
Daniel of Isleboro, ME, Laura Young of Harpswell, ME, Seth Young
of Manchester-by-the-Sea, Maxwell Johnson and Charles Johnson
both of Danvers; a great grandson Wyatt Bailey of Isleboro; a
sister, Catherine Hodgkins of Gloucester; a nephew, Steven P.
Grimes of NH and a niece, Cynthia Adams of Gloucester.
Visiting hours
will be 4 to 7 pm Friday, January 29 in the Whittier-Porter
Funeral Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich. Family and friends are
respectfully welcomed. Her interment will be private.
