Nancy E. (Brackett)
Howard, 86, of Beechwood Road, Ipswich, wife of the late William E.
Howard, the past President of Omega Labs, passed away Monday, June
1, 2015 in the Residence at Riverbend Assisted Living following her
Born in Beverly
December 1, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Philips and
Florence (Hays) Brackett. Nancy was raised in Hamilton, schooled by
nuns when in grammar school, and was a graduate of Hamilton High
School and Endicott Junior College. Married in 1951, the Howards
made their home briefly in Hamilton then on Argilla Road, Ipswich
where they raised their family.
She loved horses,
encouraging her children to ride, and enjoyed boating with her
family, and most of all foreign travel. She and her best friend
Terry Peatfield of Ipswich visited over thirty countries together.
Her favorites were Italy and Switzerland, to which they returned
many times. Nancy also loved cribbage and puzzles.
She was a devout
Catholic and was a fifty year member of Our Lady of Hope Church in
She is survived by
her two daughters Jennifer H. Phillips and her husband Jonathan of
Ipswich, and Lisa E. Guertner of Essex; a son William E. Howard III
and his partner Michael Laughlin of Aiken, SC, and three adored
grandchildren, Jackson Phillips, Jessica LeBeau and Jeremy Guertner.
She was the sister late Charles P. Brackett formerly of OH.
Her funeral service
will be held 1:00 pm Thursday June 4 in the Whittier-Porter Funeral
Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich followed by interment in the Hamilton
Cemetery, Hamilton. Family and friends are cordially welcomed. There
will be no visiting hours. Memorial contributions in her memory may
