Nancy E. (Leaman) Boland

Nancy E. (Leaman) Boland, 82, of Birch Lane, Ipswich, wife of the late Andrew F. Boland, died Sunday, April 6, 2014 in her home following her long illness.

Born in Gloucester, May 25, 1931, daughter of the late Edward B. and Ellen E. (Herrick) Leaman, she was raised in Gloucester  where she attended  public schools. She went on to study dancing in Connecticut. Married 1954 in West Gloucester, the Bolands made their home and raised their family from her late Birch Lane address.

She enjoyed the fine arts, jazz, dancing and home gardening. Mrs. Boland  was a dedicated and longtime member of the Rowley Baptist Church. She is survived by a son, Rev. Christopher F. Boland and his wife Shauna  of Cottage Grove, WS; a daughter, Andrea K. Boland of NH; seven grandchildren, Raul, Michelle, Isaac and  Brianna Fithian, Andrew Boland,  Bethany Dyer; three sisters, Bertha Robertson, Emily Strangman, Mary Lee and many nephews and nieces.

Her funeral service will be held  10 am Saturday, April 12,  graveside in the Beechbrook Cemetery, Gloucester. Family and friends are respectfully welcomed. Arrangements are under the direction of the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home of Ipswich. In lieu of flowers memorial contribution in her name may be made to  First Baptist Church of Rowley, 147 Main St., Rowley, MA 01969.
