Nanci Jean (Robishaw) Desmond, 66, of Ipswich, loving wife of Neil
Desmond, died peacefully at home on December 22, 2012 from the
complications of diabetes.
Born in Ipswich February 7, 1946, she was the daughter of the late
Everett and Florence (Rochon) Robishaw. She was educated in Ipswich
grammar schools and graduated from both the Essex Agricultural
Homemaking School as well as the Essex Agricultural High School in
Hathorne.
For many years she was employed as a veterinary technician for the
late Dr Cornelius Thibault of Ipswich. She enjoyed ceramics, arts
and crafts painting, gardening, raising Golden Retriever and Norfolk
Terrier puppies, and hitching “The Grey” to her favorite carriage
and driving through Willowdale State Forest.
In addition to her husband of thirty-six years, she is survived by
three sons, Everett Brooks and his wife Tracy of St Augustine, FL,
Marine Master Sergeant Andrew Desmond and his wife Brooke of Surf
City, NC, and James Desmond and his wife Kim of St Augustine, FL,
and grandchildren Shannon and Casey Brooks, and Brennan, Katherine
and Liam Desmond. She is also survived by her sisters, Annette
Poirier and her husband Donald of Georgetown and Roseanne Burke of
Broken Arrow, OK, her uncle Art Minor of Ohio, and many loving
cousins, nieces and nephews. She was the former wife of Richard
Brooks of Essex.
At
Nanci’s request, there will be no funeral services. Arrangements by
the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home of Ipswich. Those who wish may make
memorial contributions in her name to the Ipswich Humane Group, Box
