Michael P. Walsh


Michael P. Walsh, 75, loving spouse of Robert Cacciola of Topsfield Road, Ipswich, died Saturday, November 3, 2018 in the Sawtelle Hospice House, Reading, following his long illness.

Born in Dorchester on April 13, 1943, he was the son of the late Peter J. and Angela (Cooke) Walsh. Michael lived in Ipswich for over fifty years. He started his career as a commercial artist going on to model at the Hart Model Agency. He later had some “luck” in acting and had  appeared in several films. Most recently he and his spouse Robert owned and operated Michael Roberts Hair Fashions in Salem.

Michael  was a private pilot and owner of his own airplane as well as being an accomplished equestrian, having won many awards in jumping competitions at the Myopia Hunt Club. He was a man who had a wonderful life, was much loved by all who knew him and who will surely be missed by all.

In addition to his loving spouse Robert of fifty-five years he is survived by two sons, Jason Cacciola and Adam Walsh both of Ipswich, six grandchildren, Jordan and Julianna Walsh both of Framingham, Emma and Aliana Walsh both of Gloucester, Zoe and Dallas Cacciola both of Beverly, two sister-in-laws, Marjorie Cacciola and Elaine Regis both of Beverly, and many nephews and nieces. He was the brother of the late Stephen and Kevin Walsh both formerly of Salem.

His funeral service will be held 7 pm Wednesday, November 7, at the conclusion of his 4 to 7 pm visiting hours in the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich. Family and friends are respectfully welcomed. Interment will be private.

Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
