Michael J. Mazzola, 66, of Newton, formerly of Ipswich, died
Saturday, January 20, 2013 in the Mt. Auburn Hospital, Cambridge
following his lengthy illness.
Born in Boston June 5, 1946 loving son of Michael and Margaret
Mary (Fish) Mazzola of Sarasota, FL, he was a 1965 graduate of
Ipswich High School. During the Viet Nam War he served four
years with the U.S. Air Force.
Michael was an
artist and a collector. He loved architecture, traveling,
antiques, violin and cooking. He will be deeply missed by all
that knew him.
In addition to his parents he is survived by two sisters,
Rosemary Daly and Betty Anne Tavano both of FL; two brothers,
Thomas Mazzola of Ipswich, Daniel Mazzola and his wife Deborah
of Ipswich; two nephews; three nieces and
dearest friends, Dr. John V Pruitt, Sherry Winternitz and Jean
Frazier all of Boston
He was the brother of the late Nicholas Mazzola formerly of
Ipswich.
His funeral service will be held 10 am Friday, January 25, 2013
in the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich,
followed by interment with Military Honors in the Cowles
Memorial Cemetery, Ipswich. Family and friends are respectfully
welcomed.
