Mary E. (Williams) Peterson
Mary E. Peterson, 91, wife of the late Eugene H. Peterson died Saturday, November 3, 2007 at the Baker Katz Nursing Home in Haverhill.
Born in Ipswich, July 25, 1916, she was the daughter of Samuel and Elsie (Day) Williams. She grew up on High St. with her sisters Elizabeth (Stone), Dorothy (Hammersley) and brothers, David and Frank Williams. She graduated from Manning High School in 1933. In 1938 she married her husband “Pete”, from Essex and remained in Ipswich, a town she loved, until her last years.
She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and aunt. Her home and family, friends and neighbors, especially the neighborhood children were always in her thoughts. She will be remembered for her kindness and great Christian faith. She was a follower of Christian Science, which gave her continuing strength and peace in her daily life.
She leaves her daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Burt Stackhouse of Exeter, NH, her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren; Peter and Ronalee Stackhouse and sons Thomas and Timothy of Kensington, NH; Amy and Mark Randall and daughter Sophia of Epping, NH; also sister’s-in-law, Eleanor (Peterson) Joseph of Essex and Marge Williams of Ohio along with many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High St Ipswich on Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at 11:00 am followed by burial at the Williams family gravesite at Highland Cemetery. A visitation hour will precede the service from 10 to 11 am.
The family wishes to thank all members of the Baker Katz staff for their wonderful care and compassionate support throughout her residence.
