Mary T. (Koziol) Morency

Mary T. Morency, 94 of Upper River Road, wife of the late Charles H. Morency, died Thursday, December 7, 2017 in the Beverly Hospital following her brief illness.

Born in Ipswich on August 19, 1923,  daughter of the late Walter and Malvina (Popiel) Koziol, she  was raised in Ipswich  where she attended public schools. During the years of WWII she went to work on the cutting edge technology of the time  defense work at Sylvania, Ipswich. Here she continued her employment, retiring after fifty years of service. During the years of the war she also worked on shore patrol. Married in 1943 the Morencys soon made their home on Upper River road where they raised their family.

Mary was a longtime member of the former Sacred Heart Church of Ipswich, Ipswich VFW Post #1093 Auxiliary and the K Club. Mary enjoyed enjoyed ethnic cooking, and bowling, having bowled on the Sylvania team for many years.

She is survived by a son, Charles H. Morency, Jr of Ipswich; a daughter, Barbara A. Maguire of Ipswich; two grandchildren, Willard Wendt of Byfield, Steven Wendt of Portsmouth, NH; four great grandchildren, Rachel, Willard, Zachary and Tyler Wendt and several nephews and nieces. She was the sister of the late Alphonso Koziol and the late Helen Smolak both formerly of Ipswich.

Her funeral service will be held graveside this spring in the Cowles Memorial Cemetery, Ipswich.
