Mary T. (Fanning)
Marshall, 90, of Western Avenue, Essex, died Monday, May 4, 2015 in
the Beverly Hospital following her brief illness. She was the wife
of the late James R. Marshall.
Born in Boston March
22, 1925, the daughter of Anna Fanning, she was raised in Boston and
was a graduate of St. Joseph’s Academy in Boston. Married in 1946,
the Marshalls made their home and started a family in
Boston, relocating to her Essex home in 1952. For many of these
years she was employed as a nurse’s aide with the Visiting Nurse
Association. In retirement she continued to serve as a private duty
nurse.
She had a keen
interest in politics, and with her late husband enjoyed many hours
afield birdwatching.
Mrs. Marshall was a
communicant St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Essex.
She is survived by
two sons, John W. Marshall of Essex and Bruce R. Marshall of
Georgetown, and a daughter, Maureen A. Marshall of Peabody.
Private arrangements
are under the direction of the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home of
