MaryJane (Wilson) Eicholzer

MaryJane
(Wilson) Eicholzer, 83, wife of Alfred W. Eicholzer, of Centerville,
passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 27, 2022. Her
memory will be forever a source of inspiration and strength for her family
and all who knew and loved her.
MaryJane
was born on December 6, 1939, in Ipswich, daughter of the late William and
Margaret (Mackey) Wilson. She was raised in Ipswich, graduating Ipswich
High School Class of 1957 and went on to train as a nurse at Lawrence
General Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1960. She began her
nursing career as an OR nurse at Beth Israel Hospital, and then spent the
next 50 years in geriatric nursing. Being a nurse and a caregiver was at
the core of MaryJane.
MaryJane loved the ocean, reading, antiquing and
travel.
She often brought family to Northern
Ireland to keep family bonds alive across the pond.
Quilting by herself and with friends gave
her immense joy.
Her love lives on in the countless quilts
she shared with friends and family.
Her greatest love, however, was her family.
MaryJane married Fred Eicholzer in 1961
and had two children, Wendy and William.
Over the next three decades they
instilled their love of life and home by moving the family from Boston to
Woburn to Westborough to Sweden and back. In their later years they moved
to the Jersey Shore where their four grandchildren grew up following their
beloved “Nana” on adventures.
In retirement on Cape Cod, her favorite
thing in the world was to have the family gathered around her table for
any occasion.
In addition to her husband Alfred ‘Fred’ W.
Eicholzer, she is survived by her loving daughter, Wendy Eicholzer Glass
and her husband Lewis; a son, William A. Eicholzer and her adored
grandchildren, Ethan, Kristina, Allie and Heather.
She is also survived by her
sister-in-laws,
Marilyn Wilson, Rae Wilson and Julie Hart and
her husband Leonard Hart. She was the sister of the late David and John
Wilson.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 am Wednesday, January 4, in the
Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich followed by interment
in the New Highland Cemetery, Ipswich. Family and friends are cordially
welcomed. Visitation at the funeral home will be held Tuesday, January 3,
from 4 to 7 pm. Memorial
contributions in her memory may be made to the West Parish of Barnstable,
PO Box 219, 2049 Meetinghouse Way, West Barnstable, MA 02668,
