Margaret A. O’Leary ,95, of
Stagehill Road, Ipswich, formerly of Jamaica Plain, died
Wednesday April 2, 2008 in her home following a sudden illness.
Born in Boston October 23, 1912,
daughter of the late John and Margaret T. (Finnegan) O’Leary,
she attended the Cheverus Parochial School in Jamaica Plain. As
a young woman she went to work for the Sears Roebuck and Co.,
Brookline Ave., Boston where she was employed for forty-four
dedicated years as a secretary. During these years she resided
on Preising Street, Jamaica Plain, moving to Ipswich when she
retired in 1973.
She was a member of Our Lady of
Hope Parish in Ipswich and was a former member of the Blessed
Sacrament Parish of Jamaica Plain.
She is survived by a brother,
Patrick O’Leary of Sagamore Beach; a sister, Cecelia N. Green of
Ipswich and several nephews and nieces. She was the sister of
the late Joseph O’Leary of Natick, John and Thomas O’Leary
both formerly of Jamaica Plain and Mary T. O’Leary formerly of
Ipswich.
Her funeral service will be held
Saturday April 5, 2008 at 8 am from the Whittier-Porter Funeral
Home, 6 High St., Ipswich, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 am in
Our Lady of Hope Church, Linebrook Rd., Ipswich. Family and
friends are respectfully welcomed. Visiting hours Friday 5 to 8
pm. Interment will be in the New Highland Cemetery, Ipswich.
Memorial contributions in her name may be made to a charity of
one’s choice.
