Margaret  Mary (Bogel) Lezon

Margaret  Mary “Peggy” (Bogel) Lezon, 95, formerly of Putnam Road,  Ipswich, died Wednesday, August 31, 2016 in the Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers following her brief illness. She was the  wife of the late Theodore J. Lezon, who died January 2014.

Peggy  was born on a farm  in Danvers, June 26, 1921 the daughter of the late Polish immigrants Bronislaw and Mary (Pryzowska) Bogel. She was raised in Danvers where she  attended  public schools and as a teen she  worked at Friend Box Company in Danvers.  During World War II, she began her employment at the United Shoe Machine Company in North Beverly, where she met her future husband, Theodore J. Lezon. They married on January 12, 1947 at the Sacred Heart Church in Ipswich and spent sixty-five wonderful years together raising their family of five in Ipswich.  Peggy was a loving and devoted wife and mother.  She was an avid baker and cook of Polish specialties and loved to share her recipes and creations with her loving grandchildren.  She enjoyed many hours with friends playing cards and Bingo.  Peggy adored her family and her home in Ipswich. 

She is survived by  four daughters, Nancy A. Walsh and her husband Martin of Middleton, Kathleen M. Cameron and her husband Richard   of Nappa, CA, Margaret M. Foster and her husband James of Rockport, and Jane  Lezon Hamilton and her husband Paul Mooney of Portland, OR; a son, Theodore J. Lezon, Jr. and his wife, Sia, of West Newbury; sixteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews

She was the sister of the late Genevieve Monkley formerly of Worcester, Bill Bogel of Beverly and Ted Bogel of Danvers. 

Her funeral service will be held at 9 am Friday, September 2 from the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich, followed by the celebration of a Funeral Mass Of Christian Burial at 10 am at Our Lady of Hope Church, Linebrook Road, Ipswich. Family and friends are respectfully welcomed. Interment will follow in the Cowles Memorial Cemetery, Ipswich. Family and friends are respectfully welcomed. Visiting hours are Thursday  5 to 8 pm.
