Marcia A. (Hopping) Eaton

Marcia A. (Hopping) Eaton, 61, beloved wife of Lawrence J. Eaton of High Street, Ipswich, passed unexpectedly  Thursday, May 12, 2016 surrounded by her loving family in the Beverly Hospital.

Born in Ipswich June 29, 1954, daughter of the late Norman R. and Joan E. (Smith) Hopping, she was raised in Ipswich and was a graduate of Ipswich High School and Essex Agricultural School of Cosmotology. She spent her entire adult life caring and providing for children, her own and countless others from Ipswich and beyond.  She will be best remembered for her infectious laugh, loving compassionate nature, and her inability to say no to any family member or friend and need. 

In addition to her husband Larry of forty-two years she is survived by two daughters, Courtney  Morrison and her husband Scot of Ipswich and Kaitlyn  Eaton of Hamilton; four sons, Barry  Eaton and his wife Keri of Ipswich, Brad Eaton and his fiancée Catherine Turner  of Ipswich, Keith  Eaton of  NH and Craig Eaton of Ipswich; eight grandchildren; a sister, Joan E. Northey  of Topsfield; five brothers, Ronald E. Hopping of Ipswich, Stephen L. Hopping of Georgetown, Barry W. Hopping of Ipswich, Norman R. Hopping of Texas and John J. Hopping of Stratham, NH and many nephews and nieces.

Her funeral will be held 8 am Tuesday, May 17 from the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich, followed by the celebration of a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at 9 am in Our Lady of Hope Church, Linebrook Road, Ipswich. Family and friends are respectfully welcomed. Visiting hours will be  4 to 8 pm on Monday. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be  made for breast cancer research in support of Meghan (Hopping) Pistritto to: Susan G. Komen  Southern New England, 74 Batterson Park Road, Farmington, CT 06032.
