Lorraine M. Clements

Lorraine M. Clements, 86 of Agawam Village, Ipswich, died Saturday, July 14, 2018 in the Kaplan Family Hospice, Danvers following her brief illness. Born in Ipswich she was the daughter of the late Joseph A. and Edith M. (Robicheau) Clements. Lorraine was a lifelong Ipswich resident, a 1952 graduate of Ipswich High School and a seventy-year resident of Warren Street. For many of these years Lorraine was employed at Sylvania in Ipswich, where she worked until the plant closed. She went on to work at Varian in Beverly from which she later retired.

Lorraine lived a quiet life, enjoying her beautiful home garden and most of all the role she cherished as a loving aunt of nineteen nieces and nephews and godmother of two.

She was a longtime communicant of Our Lady of Hope Church in Ipswich.

In addition to her godchildren, nephews and nieces, she is survived by a brother David R. Clements and his wife Ursula of Ipswich, and three sisters, Doris Banks and her husband Earle of Ipswich, Ruth Rawson of Rowley and Rosemary Whynott of Gloucester. She was the sister of the late Roland Clements formerly of Ipswich and Charlotte Durkee formerly of Georgetown.

Her funeral Service will be held 11 am Wednesday, July 18 in the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich followed by interment in the Cowles Memorial Cemetery, Ipswich. Family and friends are respectfully welcomed. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in her name may be made to the Development Office, Shriners Hospitals for Children-Boston, 51 Blossom Street, Boston, MA 02114.
