Karen West Campbell

Karen West Campbell, 73, of South Hamilton, passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2021 in the Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers following a protracted battle with cancer.

orn in Millville, NJ in November 1947, she was the daughter of Dorothy (Nourse) West of Cromwell, CT and the late Robert F. West. Following her high school graduation in 1965, Karen went on to obtain a degree in medical technology at Hartwick College in New York where she met her husband to be, Archie. She was employed in the medical field for over forty-two years, most recently at the Lahey Clinic from which she retired.  In retirement she expanded her hobbies of walking and traveling, having traveled throughout the United States and in France, Spain, Ireland, Scotland, the valleys of the Danube and Rhine Rivers, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico.

Karen was an active member of her local American Volkssport Association Club and served   as treasurer of the local Two Town Walking Club. She was A long-time member of the Order of Eastern Star and a volunteer for and participant in the Daughters of the Nile.

In addition to her mother and husband Archie, she is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Boutchie of Georgetown and Meredith Graham and her husband Jonathan of NH, her three much adored granddaughters, Riley Boutchie, Rebecca Graham and Amelia Graham, and a younger brother, Lee West and his wife Carol of Old Wethersfield, CT.

Her funeral service will be held 11 am Tuesday, October 5 in the First Church in Wenham, 2 Arbor Street, Wenham. Family and friends wearing facial masks will be cordially welcomed. Visiting hours will be held 5 to 8 pm Monday, October 4 in the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be made to Boston North Children’s Dyslexia Center, 79 Dutton St., Lowell, MA  01852.
