Justin R. Schofield, 44, of Ocean Drive, Ipswich, died Wednesday,
November 10, 2021 in his home.
Born in Danvers on April 13, 1977 he was the son of Ann E. (Weaver)
Schofield of Ipswich and the late Calvin C. Schofield of North Reading.
Justin was raised in Ipswich where he attended public schools going on to
study culinary arts at the Essex Agricultural and Technical Institute.
He became a heavy equipment operator with a successful career in
excavation. He started out with Vantage Enterprises and J. Masterson
Construction Corporation. Justin was also a natural at carpentry and
worked for Fahey Construction and most recently CS Builders with his close
colleagues JW Smith and Ben Carter. His happy place was inside a machine
moving earth. He was a force to be reckoned with.
Justin was married in 2005 to Katelyn Comeau of Beverly and was divorced a
few years later. They enjoyed many years together before marriage
and later at their time share in Aruba. He had no children, but he loved
his chihuahuas named Lollah and Kya AKA “Mr. Boots”. Justin
affectionately nicknamed himself Uncle Schofield to close friends. He was
a sensitive man with a tough exterior and a heart of gold.
Justin played hockey from age 11 for Agawam Youth Hockey up until reaching
Bantam level as a defenseman #24. He was an avid fisherman starting
very early in life with his father, ice fished and continued to catch
stripers up until last summer. Justin had a high IQ and was an
intelligent historian and lover of the History and Discovery channels.
As a kid Justin created talented drawings, built models, collected comic
books, gundam model robots and magic cards. He skateboarded,
mountain-biked and developed a passion for remote control cars and
Dungeons and Dragons. He immersed himself in countless action and
fantasy movies including compilations like Star Wars and Game of Thrones.
He loved to lift weights, golf and ride ATVs. He aspired to snowboard and
rock climb more. He was a lover of electronic music and quite the
dancer-known at the clubs and raves as Big Brother.
In addition to his mother he is survived by one sister, Amy Schofield and
her wife Erin Kelley of Beverly; aunts, Jean (Weaver) Albanese and
her husband Arthur of New Port Richey FL, Jane
(Schofield) Regan and her husband Jerry of North Reading; uncles,
William Schofield of Tyngsboro and Robin Schofield and his wife Kris of
Lancaster. Justin is also survived by cousins, Christene
(Albanese) Binger of Sterling, Jennifer Albanese of New Port Richey FL,
Becky (Regan) Owens and her husband Brian of Dracut and Holly
Regan-Turbitt and her husband John of Derry, NH and Andrew Regan and his
wife Heather MacLeod of North Reading. Justin was much loved by his
second cousins, Brendan and Patrick Regan, Grayson and Avery Owens,
Katherine and Jameson Regan and Cassie (Regan) Boucher. He was the cousin
of the late William Regan formerly of Pittsfield, father of his second
cousins Corrisa Regan and Chelsey Regan.
Private funeral arrangements are under the direction of the
Whittier-Porter Funeral Home of Ipswich.
