(Browning) Brooks, 80, longtime resident of Rust Street,
Hamilton, passed away peacefully at home on January 5, 2013.
She was the beloved wife of the late Robert H. Brooks with whom
she shared thirty-nine years of marriage.
Born in Salem
on November 14, 1932, June was the daughter of the late John F.
and Mary K. (McCann) Browning. She was raised in Beverly Cove
and graduated from Beverly High School. June enjoyed the beach
and “worshipped” the sun. She was an avid gardener and always
surrounded herself with beautiful flowers and plants. June
loved yard sailing and delighted in the simplicity of life.
Most of all, however, she loved her family and friends and
always made time to visit with them.
survived by her loving children, Cindy Browning Bagala, of Santa
Rosa, California, Ted Lawrence Brooks of Santa Rosa, California,
Julie Anne Fields of Hamilton, and Jennifer Marie Neill of
Windsor, California. She adored her eight grandchildren and
leaves behind Bobbi Jo Santisi of Beverly, Scott Brooks of
Ipswich, Galin Brooks of Reno, Nevada, Matthew Robert Fields of
Hamilton, as well as Macy June Meyers, Alison Elizabeth
Espinoza, Alex Robert Neill and Valerie Jean Neill, all of
Northern California. June is also survived by six precious
great-grandchildren and her two brothers, Richard (Dick)
Browning of Nevada and Peter Browning of Florida. In addition to
her late parents, June is preceded in death by her husband,
Robert H. Brooks, and two sons, Glen and William Scott Brooks.
June will be most dearly missed by all who knew her.
Mass will be celebrated at St. Paul’s Catholic Church at 50
Union Street, Hamilton, on Friday, January 11, 2013 at 9:00
a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to
attend. Following the Mass will be a graveside service for the
family at the Hamilton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers,
expressions of sympathy may be made in June's memory to The
Foundation for a Smokefree America, 8117 W Manchester Avenue,
