Joseph A. Lower, 89, of Southern Avenue, Essex, husband of
Lee H. (Miller) Lower, died Sunday (November 18, 2007) in
the Mass. General Hospital, Boston, following his brief
illness.
Born in Philadelphia he was son of the late Robert M. and
the late Amelia E. (Brick) Lower.
Mr. Lower was employed for twenty five years as a skilled
machinist for Sylvania, Boston Street, Salem, from which he
retired in 1981.
In addition to his wife, with whom he shared fifty-five
years of happy marriage, he is survived by four sons,
Joseph A. Lower, Jr. of PA, Robert D. Lower and his wife Sue
of PA, William M. Lower and his wife Sherri of FL and James
P. Lower of ME; a daughter Beth Ferriero and her husband
Paul of ME and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Private funeral arrangements are under the direction of the
Whittier-Porter Funeral Home of Ipswich. Memorial
