Joseph B. Dziadul

Joseph B. Dziadul, 89, of Westerly, Rhode Island, died June 24, 2010 in the Westerly Health Center following a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Natalie C. (Gurynski) Dziadul who died in 1992.

Born in Ipswich July 18, 1920 son of the late Bronislaw and Anne (Babienska) Dziadul, he was raised in Ipswich, a 1937 graduate of Ipswich High School. During WWII he served with the US Navy stationed in Hawaii, Norfolk, VA and Reno, NV. Following his honorable discharge and his return to Ipswich, he married and made his home for many years on High Street. A machinist, he was employed by Sylvania in Ipswich from which he retired after more than 45 years of service.

An avid sports fan, he played golf and tennis and baseball for the Ipswich Chiefs, the US Navy and semi-pro for the minor league Lawrence Millionaires. He will be remembered as a man of incredible humor.  

Mr. Dziadul was a member of Ipswich VFW Post #1093, PLAV Post #92, Thadddeus Kosciusko Club, the St. Lawrence Literary Society and communicant of the former Sacred Heart Church of Ipswich.

He is survived by a son, Edward Dziadul and his wife Pasqua of Sands Pt., NY; a daughter, Suzanne Morrill and her husband Russell of Westerly, RI; three grandchildren, Christine Tynan of Long Island, NY, Peter Morrill of Acton, ME and Russell Morrill of Long Island, NY; two great grandchildren Max and Lukas Morrill of Long Island and two sisters, Sophie Rygiel and Eleanor Sheppard both of Ipswich and many nephews and nieces. He was the brother of the late Walter Dziadul and Jenny Curran both formerly of Ipswich.

His funeral will be held Wednesday June 30, 8 am from the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich, followed by a Funeral Mass 9 am in Our Lady of Hope Church, Pineswamp Road, Ipswich. Family and friends are respectfully welcomed. Visiting hours are Tuesday 4 to 8 pm. Interment with Naval Honors will be in the Highland Cemetery, Ipswich.
