Johnathan J. Hovey

Johnathan Jason Hovey, 20, son of Jason M. and Catherine P. (Zagorski) Hovey of 112 High Street, Ipswich, died Sunday, January 29, 2012 in his home following a sudden illness.

Born in Newburyport July 15, 1991 he was raised in Ipswich, a graduate of Ipswich High School Class of 2009. Johnathan was an accomplished go cart racer having won the Quarter Midget Championship in 2002. He was recently employed at the Sisters of Notre Dame as a dietary aide. He loved snowmobiling in Maine with his father and close friends and geocaching. He was also an avid Patriots and NASCAR Racing fan.

In addition to his parents he is survived by a brother Justin Hovey of Ipswich; his longtime girlfriend Linsey Doyle of Georgetown; grandparents Ron and Anne Black of Somersworth, NH, John and Patricia Hovey of Merrimac, Deborah LeBlanc of Ipswich; aunts and uncles, Lynda and Dean Weigant of Ipswich, Andrea and Edward Joyce of Alabama, Sarajane LeBlanc of Ipswich, Karen Zagorski of Hamilton and many cousins. He was predeceased by his uncles Robert Hovey and Curtis Zagorski both formerly of Ipswich.

Family and friends are respectfully welcomed to visiting hours Thursday 4 to 8 pm  in the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich. Visitation will include at 7 pm the opportunity for those who wish to share their remembrances.
There will  be a reception on Saturday February 4th 2 to 4 pm at the Masonic Temple 70 Topsfield Road, Ipswich.  
Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation  8301 Professional Place, Landover MD 20785.
