John B. Rogers Jr.,
71, husband of Janis (Pappas) Rogers of High Street, Ipswich, died
Saturday December 24, 2016 in the Blueberry Hill Rehab & Healthcare
Center, Beverly following a brief illness.
Born in Hanover NH, December 19, 1945 he was the son of the late
John B. and Kathleen (Morgan) Rogers. He was raised in Danvers and
later resided in Ipswich. Mr. Rogers served in the U.S. Army
stationed in Texas and was later transferred to U.S.A.R stationed in
Missouri. He also played the trombone in the Army band.
He was employed for many years as a United States Postal Worker for
the town of Topsfield. Upon his retirement, he worked part-time for
James S. Price Inc. in Ipswich. He had a passion for golf and was
well known around town.
In addition to his wife Janis he is survived by a sister, Jean
James of NH; three stepsons, Donald Cassie Jr. of Beverly, Stephen
Cassie of Georgetown, Dwayne Cassie of Ipswich, and a stepdaughter,
Lisa Rosier of Ohio.
His funeral
service will be held graveside Friday March 17 at 10 am in the
Cowles Memorial Cemetery, Town Farm Road, Ipswich. Family and
friends are respectfully welcomed. Visiting hours are Thursday 4 to
7pm in the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich.
