John F. Kiley

John F. Kiley, 76, of Mayfair Court, Ipswich, husband of Suzanne M. (Stark) Kiley, died Wednesday April 9, 2008 in the Essex Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center following his long illness.

Born December 24, 1931 in Edina, Missouri, he was the son of the late John P. and Myrtle (Krighauser) Kiley. A graduate of St. Josephs High School in Edina, he received a B.S. in mechanical engineering from the Univ. of Missouri. He worked as a fishing guide in Yellowstone National Park while he was a college student. Following graduation he was employed by General Electric in Dayton, OH, later in Lynn where he managed jet engine programs in this country, South America and Asia, until his retirement in 1992. During the Korean Conflict he served in the U.S. Navy. Married in April 1968 in Lynnfield, the Kileys made their home in Peabody, Beverly and Topsfield. They have been Ipswich residents for the past ten years. He enjoyed skiing and sailing. He was a member of the Elfun Society and an honorary professional member of Pi Tau Sigma.

In addition to his wife of forty years he is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Kiley of Ipswich and two nieces. He was the brother of the late William Kiley formerly of Texas and Elizabeth Finney formerly of Missouri.

Private arrangements are under the direction of the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home of Ipswich. Those who wish may make memorial contributions in his name to the Spectrum Adult Day Health Program, 600 Cummings Center, Beverly, MA 01915.
