Jeffrey B. Smith,
57, of South Boston, formerly of Cedarview Road, Ipswich, died
Wednesday, June 24, 2015 in the Tufts Medical Center, Boston
following a heart attack.
Born June 10, 1958
in Beverly, son of the late William H. and Theresa E. (Hamlin)
Smith, he was educated in Ipswich, a 1977 graduate of Ipswich High
School. He served four years in the U.S. Marines. For twenty-two
years and until his death he had been employed as a Bridge and
Building Mechanic for Amtrak.
He is survived by
his companion of many years, Jean Harris of South Boston, a sister,
Pamela McRae and her husband Michael of Hyattsville, MD, two
nephews, a niece and two great nephews.
His funeral service
will be held 10 am Wednesday, July 8 in the Ipswich United Methodist
Church followed by interment with Military Honors in the Cowles
Memorial Cemetery, Town Farm Road, Ipswich. Family and friends are
respectfully welcomed.
