Jean Louise (Ross) Marcaurelle,
87, beloved wife of the late Robert Joseph
Marcaurelle with whom she shared forty-six years
of marriage, died Saturday March 22, 2014 in her
Ipswich home surrounded by family.
Jean was born and was raised in Danvers,
the youngest in the family of the late John
Malcom and Frances Etta (Smith) Ross. She was a
graduate of Danvers public
schools and North
Shore Babies Hospital in Salem.
Having devoted many years to nursing care, she
was employed at Salem Hospital and Beverly Hospital until
her children arrived. She later worked at the
former Cable Hospital in Ipswich for
twenty-three years. Following Cable's closure,
she worked in Home Health Nursing until
Jean had many creative hobbies
including many years in scale modeling
miniatures. She received multiple awards and was
a member of the National Association of
Miniature Elite. She adored her pets and
traveling having spent many years wintering in Florida.
Jean was a very caring mother and
grandmother who will be dearly missed by all who
knew and loved her.
She is survived by two sons,
Robert Marcaurelle and his wife Pamela of
Ipswich and Blair Marcaurelle and his wife Maria
of Boston; a daughter Jan T. Marcaurelle of
Ipswich, six grandchildren, Luke and his wife
Wendy, Raeme Jean, Erica, Alicia, James and
Christopher, one great grandson, Francis, and
her former daughter-in-law Andrea Marcaurelle of
Ipswich. She was the sister of the late Ethel
“Midge” Campbell, Emma Berry, Edward Ross, and
John H. Ross.
Her funeral service will be held
Saturday, March 29 at 11 am following an hour of
visitation from 10 to 11 in the Whittier-Porter
Funeral Home, 6
High Street, Ipswich.
Interment will be in the Cowles Memorial Cemetery, Ipswich.
Family and friends are respectfully welcomed.
