James H. Morrill,
76, formerly of Caroline Avenue, Ipswich, died Thursday, November
19, 2015 in the Brigham Manor Health and Rehabilitation Center,
Newburyport.
Born in Portsmouth,
NH February 25, 1939 he was the son of the late William E. and
Eleanor B. (Courser) Morrill, he was raised in Ipswich educated in
public schools. During the years of the Vietnam War he served in
Germany with the U.S. Army. Following his Honorable Discharge he
returned to Ipswich where for the next thirty years he was employed
as the kitchen manager at the Riverview Restaurant. Affectionately
know to his friends as “Jimmy” he was thought to hold the secret to
the very special pizzas of the Riverview.
He is survived by
three brothers, William E. Morrill of Peabody, Russell E. and his
wife Suzanne of Westerly, RI, Ricky Morrill of Ipswich; three
sisters, Jean Bowlen of Salisbury, Nancy Follansbee and her husband
Myron of Amesbury, Trudy Cole and her husband Jim of Jax, FL and
several nephews and nieces. He was the father of the late four year
old James Earl “Buster” Morrill who died in 1970.
His funeral Service
with Military Honors will be held 11 am Wednesday, December
2, graveside in the Cowles Memorial Cemetery, Town Farm Ipswich.
Family and friends are respectfully welcomed. Arrangements by
