James B. L. Lane

James B. L. Lane, 89, husband of Marjorie D. (Davis) Lane of Rogers Street, West Newbury and Conomo Point, Essex,  died November 8, 2014 at the Atrium in Danvers. In addition to his wife Marjorie he is survived by his  children, Peter and his wife Nancy of Essex, Tom and his wife Linda of Littleton, Ginger and her husband Jim of West Newbury, Doug and his wife Leanne of Millersville MD, and Heidi of Essex and Ipswich; grandchildren Jeff and his wife Meaghan, parents of great-grandchildren Lilly and Oliver of Essex, Ellen of West Gloucester, Zack of West Newbury and Maine  Maritime Academy, Castine ME, Shana of Maine Maritime Academy, Castine ME, Andy and his wife Shannon of Scottsdale AZ, Michael and his wife Stephanie of Odenton MD, and Usha and her fiancé Blair of Millersville MD. He is also  survived by his sister Susie DeGeorge of Winchester and was  predeceased by his brother Lindy.

Private arrangements are under the direction of the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home of Ipswich. A sail in his memory on Harold Burnham’s schooner Ardelle is being planned for the spring.

In lieu of flowers, Jim would love contributions to be made to the Essex Shipbuilding Museum, 66 Main St, Essex MA 01929 or Lowell’s Boat Shop, 459 Main St, Amesbury MA 01913.
