James T. Dunn, 45, of 20
Story Street, Essex died Sunday July 18, 2010 at Lahey Clinic,
Burlington, with his mother and sister by his side, following his
long illness.
Born in Beverly September
12, 1964 he was the son of Frances A. (Remsen) Dunn of Essex and the
late John R. Dunn, Jr. A lifelong resident of Essex, he attended
Essex Elementary and Gloucester High School. He was employed as a
commercial truck driver for many years, most recently employed by
Hiltz Waste Disposal, Inc. of Gloucester. His passion was in
farming, working with his father and brothers from an early age. He
enjoyed collecting old milk bottles from around the country and
raised his own chickens, selling their eggs locally.
In addition to his mother,
James is survived by two brothers, John R. Dunn III and David A.
Dunn and his wife Bonnie, all of Essex; two sisters, Debra E. Lane
and her husband Howard of Essex and Diana L. Merchant, wife of the
late Michael Merchant of Seabrook, NH. He also leaves seven nieces
and nephews, David A. Dunn, Jr. of Salem, NH., Daniel A. Dunn of
Gloucester, Leanne D. Lane and Stephanie M. Lane both of Essex,
Michael K. Merchant III, Melissa A. Merchant, and Mathew J. Merchant
all of Seabrook; three great-nieces, Kaitlyn, Lauryn and Madelyn
Merchant; aunts Helen and Mary Dunn of West Newbury and Doris Miller
of Middleton and uncles James Dunn and wife Winifred of N. Andover
and Thomas Remsen of Wenham.
His funeral service will be
held Wednesday July 21 at 6 pm in the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home,
6 High Street, Ipswich, preceded by a visitation from 4 to 6 pm.
Family and friends are respectfully welcomed. In lieu of flowers
memorial contributions in his name may be made to the American Heart
Association, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
