James Peter Angell,
Jr., 51, husband of Amy P. (Lefeber) Angell of Argilla Road, passed
away in Ipswich on Monday, August 11, 2014.
Jay was born in
Ipswich February 21, 1963, where he was raised, the son of Alice S.
(Speliotes) and the late James P. Angell. Jay graduated from
Ipswich High School in 1980 and then traveled to New Mexico, where
he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy at New Mexico
State University. Following college, Jay worked at the Regulation
and Licensing Department in Santa Fe, NM. He returned to Ipswich in
1992 and worked at the Ipswich Chronicle. When his first son was
born in 1995, he became a stay-at-home dad. He loved living in
Ipswich and considered it the most beautiful place on earth.
In addition to his
wife and mother he is survived by three sons, Zachary, Dmitrios and
David Angell and two daughters, Katherine and Alexandra Angell, all
of Ipswich. He was the brother of the late Christina Angell.
His funeral will be
held 9 am Tuesday, August 19 from the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home,
6 High Street, Ipswich followed by a service at 10 am in the Greek
Orthodox Church 8 Lafayette Road, Ipswich. Family and friends are
respectfully welcomed. Visiting hours are Monday 4 to 8 pm.
Interment will be in the New Highland Cemetery, Ipswich. Following
services a memorial gathering will be held at Ithaki Restaurant at
25 Hammatt Street in Ipswich.
In lieu of flowers
memorial contributions in his name may be made to a charity of one’s
choice.
