Ida L. (Cardinale) Minichiello

Ida L. (Cardinale) Minichiello, 99, loving wife of the late Angelo Minichiello, died Monday November 8, 2010 in the Masconomet Healthcare Center, Topsfield following her brief illness.

Born in Lynn November 27, 1910, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Theresa (Orsini) Cardinale both of Fondi, Italy. She was raised in Swampscott, a graduate of public schools and the Burdett College of Lynn. Married 1940 in Ipswich, the Minichiellos made their home in Georgia for a couple of years then Bradenton, Florida for the next fifty or more years. For several years she hosted a television cooking program in Florida and ran a kennel, raising cocker spaniels. In retirement the Minichiellos enjoyed traveling the country  in their Airstream . She will be remembered by all as a terrific cook.

She is survived by a sister, Inez Orsini of Ipswich and many nephews and nieces. She was the sister of the late Frank, Dominic and Louis Cardinale, all formerly of Swampscott and Josephine Orsini formerly of Ipswich. 

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday 9 am in Our Lady of Hope Church, Pineswamp Road, Ipswich. Family and friends are respectfully welcomed. Interment will be in the New Highland Cemetery, Ipswich. Arrangements are under the direction of the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home of Ipswich. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in her name may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 510 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
