Hewitt “Cub” Morgan, Jr. 83, of Wenham,  formerly of Ipswich, died peacefully on November 20, 2013 at Putnam Farm in Danvers.

Born June 2, 1930 in New York City he was the son of the late Hewitt and Susanne (Kemper) Morgan. He attended St. Marks School, was a 1948 graduate of Milton Academy and of Harvard University Class of 1952.  He gave many hours to educational and charitable organizations including Harvard University, the Pingree School, Animal Rescue League of Boston, Ascension Memorial Church, and the Ipswich Y. His entire business career was at State Street Bank in Boston.

He is survived by his devoted wife of fifty-four years Rose (Converse), and his daughters Wendy Richardson and her husband Peter, Laura Kemper Morgan, Rose Bullock Morgan and her husband David Daignault and five grandchildren, Liza, Christopher, Andrew, Max and Casey. Cub's family extends their sincere gratitude to Beth Burridge and her team of compassionate caregivers at Putnam Farm.

 A memorial service will be held  11 am Saturday November 30, 2013 at Ascension Memorial Church, 31  County St. Ipswich. Arrangements are under the direction of the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home of Ipswich. In lieu  of flowers memorial contributions in  Cub's name for the Ipswich Y may be made  c/o YMCA of the North Shore, 245 Cabot St, Beverly, MA 01915 or to Ascension Memorial Church, PO Box 547, Ipswich, MA 01938.
