Helen F. (Stranberg) Riddle
Helen F. (Stranberg) Riddle, 95 of Bay Road,
Hamilton, wife of the late Warren Riddle, died Friday, May 21, 2021 in the
Beverly Hospital following her brief illness.
Born in Quincy on April 15, 1926, one of four
children of the late James H. and Helen F. (Gannon) Stranberg, she was
raised in Quincy, a graduate of Quincy Public Schools. As a young woman
she was employed for several years as a bank teller. Married in 1950, the
Riddles soon made their home and raised their family in Hamilton. In
addition to raising her family she enjoyed many hours of sewing, baking
Helen was a longtime member of the Christ Church of
Hamilton & Wenham, a member of the V.O.A. Birka Lodge #732 of Hamilton,
where she participated in the folk dance group, the Spiran Lodge #98 of
Rockport, and the Hamilton Garden Club, and she served as a Girl Scout
Leader when her daughters were young.
She is survived by three daughters, Nancy A. Pare
and her husband Richard of Maine, Susan Perry of Haverhill, Pamela J.
Morris and her husband Timothy of Hamilton; nine grandchildren; fourteen
great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. She was the sister of
the late Virginia McCarthy, Robert and James Stranberg.
Her funeral service will be held 10 am Wednesday,
May 26 in the Christ Church of Hamilton & Wenham, 149 Asbury Street,
Hamilton followed by interment in the Hamilton Cemetery. Family and
friends are cordially invited. Visiting hours will be 5 to 7 pm Tuesday in
the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich.
