Grace E. Girard Joseph

Grace E. Girard Joseph, 88, of Wenham died peacefully on August 19, 2022
after a long illness at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.
Born in Ipswich in 1934, she was the daughter of the late Earl P. Girard
formerly of Ipswich and Katherine (Steele) Girard formerly of PEI.
“Bunty”, as she was known to many, graduated from Ipswich High School with
the Class of 1951. She went on to become the dining manager for eighteen
years at the Towne Lyne House in Lynnfield, followed by fifteen years of
employment as a bank teller at the Shawmut Bank in Peabody which later
became the Bank of America.
Bunty lived a full life. She loved to travel, having traveled with her
group of friends to destinations which included Hawaii, Majorca Spain,
Bermuda and many of the National Parks. She loved adventures, her travels
included hot air ballooning in Arizona and whitewater rafting in Wyoming.
She was also an avid reader. Bunty also loved time with her friends and
family, having never missed a family get together, and her animals, which
included her dog Buff and her cat Twinkie.
She is survived by ten nieces and nephews; nine cousins, all of whom were
more like her brothers and sisters; two very special friends, Judy and
Marian and her dear friend Ralph. She was predeceased by her two brothers,
Alan Girard of formerly Delaware and Phillip Girard of formerly Hamilton.
Her memorial service will be held 11 am Friday, September 2 in the
Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich. Family and friends
are cordially welcomed. Her interment will be private.
