Gloria G. Mulley

Gloria G. Mulley, 92, loving wife of the late James Mulley Jr., died of
natural causes on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at her home in Beverly Farms.
Gloria was born during the early days of the Great Depression on June 24,
1929, after her parents, the late Gordon and Bessie (Ivany) Stanley
relocated from Newfoundland to Jamaica, NY in search of employment. The
family returned to Gander, Newfoundland a few years later when her mother
passed away, and after high school, Gloria returned on her own to the U.S.
to live with relatives in Chelsea where she met Jim. Gloria and Jim
were married in 1950. After welcoming their first two children (Jim and
Debby) and living a few years in Saugus, Jim was transferred to another
General Electric location in Erie, PA, where their remaining two children
(Rich and Scott) were born. He was transferred back to Massachusetts in
1966 where the family resided in Ipswich until 1998, when the couple moved
to Atkinson, NH. In their later years, they also spent several months per
year entertaining family and friends at their winter home in Fort Myers,
FL. Gloria spent her final two years living with her daughter, Debby, in
Beverly Farms. Gloria dedicated her life to caring for her family.
She was a loving wife for 68 years and a full-time parent who
affectionately supported her children until the day she died. Possessing a
keen sense of style, she enjoyed interior decorating and making her own
clothes. She frequently enjoyed creative projects, including
candle-making, dried flower arranging, and even painting for a time. An
avid user of technology, Gloria used her laptop and texted with her family
every day until her eyesight failed, used an Apple watch through her final
days, and even saved her own life at age 90 by asking Alexa to call for
help when she fell and broke her neck. A dedicated follower of Jesus
Christ, Gloria was active in several churches during her lifetime.
Gloria is survived by a daughter, Dr. Debra A. Mulley of Beverly Farms;
three sons, James G. Mulley and his wife Maryellen of Waco, TX, Richard A.
Mulley and his wife Susan of Hamilton and K. Scott Mulley and his wife
Helen of Chester, NH; seven grandchildren, Daniel, Tyler, Elizabeth,
Rebecca, Gavin, and Gordon Mulley, Megan Washburn; and 3 great
grandchildren, Watson, Oaklee, and Sora Mulley. She was also the sister
of the late Robert Stanley of Newfoundland and the late Winston Stanley of
Ontario. Her funeral service will be held 11 AM on Friday, June 10 at
First Presbyterian Church Northshore, 179 County Road, Ipswich followed by
interment in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Family and friends are
respectfully welcomed. Visiting hours are Thursday, June 9, 5 to 8 pm in
the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich. In lieu of
flowers, memorial contributions in her name can be made to The Navigators,
in support of Daniel Mulley (grandson of the deceased), at
