Gloria E. (Wernig) Brunet

Gloria E. (Wernig) Brunet, 92, long time resident of Everett and beloved wife of the late  John E. Brunet,  died Sunday, October 5, 2014 in her  Ipswich  home following a long illness.

Born in Everett September 2, 1922, daughter of the late Frederick and Lillian (Faucci) Wernig, she was raised, schooled, married and raised her family and lived all but these last several months in Everett.. In addition to the years of raising her family she was employed at Schraftts Candy Company in Charlestown. She’ll be remembered as a dedicated and loving mother who enjoyed hours of knitting, and cooking, baking for her family and entertaining friends. She was an avid reader and follower of current events.  

She is survived by  four  sons, John Brunet and his wife Bonnie of Malden, Stephen Brunet and his wife Deborah of KY, Peter Brunet of  New York, NY, and Michael Brunet of KY; three daughters, Mary Moss and  her husband Alfred of Stoneham, Susan Skerry of Ipswich, and Denise O’Donnell and her husband Frederick of Billerica; a brother,  Vincent Wernig of Providence, RI; twelve grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Frederick, Phillip and Dolores and grandmother of the late Andrew.

Her funeral will be held 9 am Wednesday, October 8 from the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich, followed by the celebration of a Funeral Mass  10:30 am in St. Rose of Lima Church, 12 Park  Street, Topsfield. Interment will be private.

Family and friends are respectfully welcomed. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in her name may be made to  Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, P.O. Box 141599, Irving, TX 75014.
